September 20, 2008 · Leave a Comment

As Halloween approaches, my 3 year old son has been begging and begging for a Ninja Turtle costume.   Finally, I told him if he could make it through the day at preschool without Mommy (the last 3 times he refused to separate), then I would get him the costume he so covets.   So yesterday-victory!  Jack was able to get through his first day of preschool without Mom, and even better, his teachers said he was actually happy and interacted with his peers-hooray! It’s Apple Time!

September 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Deceptively Delicious, an Aptly Titled Cookbook

Last year my husband bought me Jessica Seinfeld’s book Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food for Christmas.  Marketed to parents who need to hide vegetables in standbys like Macaroni and Cheese, and treats like brownies for their veggie resistant kids, this book is also an excellent resource for those of us who find ourselves vegetable rich in the summer months.
